Want to become more resilient and hopeful?
Ask yourself: “What have you been saying to yourself these days?”
It matters because we can literally talk ourselves into a funk or into creating a great day.
You know how it goes. We wake up to a dark, rainy day and for most, the first response is “ugh!”
At that point though, we have a choice about how our day will go.
We can choose to listen to our drunken monkey, that negative little voice in our head, and become sullen, depressed and angry. Not a great way to start the day.
Or we can choose to catch ourselves in the moment, silence that negative voice, and embrace the opportunity to stay inside. We might finally complete a task we’ve been avoiding, reach out to a friend who needs encouragement, or create a simple gratitude list of 3-5 things to shift our perspective and brighten our mood.
Doing any or all of those things give us the energy to create a good, perhaps a great day. A chance to live life more fully. Make a difference in THE world, even in the midst of unrelenting change and disruption.
Becoming more hopeful and resilient is a choice. And what we say to our self makes all the difference.
What could you say to yourself to begin a day that spreads hope rather than fear? To encourage confidence and courage in yourself and others?
In a chaotic world, we need a wave of people who promote hope and confidence.
What can you do to bring hope to others today, or this week?
Feel free to leave your comments, we and others would love to hear from you!
